Easter

We had a wonderful Easter weekend! The kids woke up this morning to their baskets full of goodies and we explained to them why we give gifts on Easter and the real meaning of Easter - Jesus arose from the grave! We talked about how he gave us the best gift of all - everlasting life! After a very powerful church service, it was time for our afternoon festivities to begin. We ate a delicious lunch at Gongi's house and then headed to Mimi and Papa's house for our Easter egg hunt! The kids had a blast finding all their eggs pretty fast, and counted all their dollar bills from Mimi and Papa. ;) It was then time to cool off in the pool. I can't get over how hot it was today. It was beautiful but hot and it's only April! When we got home, Gamma brought over this Resurrection egg set she's had for more than 20 years, and went over each one of the eggs's special meaning. I have never heard it before, but it touched my heart. I definitely want to keep that tradition going with the kids each year.

Of course, I am a little down that our spring break has come to an end just because the majority of the time off we were all sick. :( We really didn't get a chance to get out and go anywhere, and poor Troy is still really sick. Please continue to uplift him in your prayers..he's fighting a horrible case of strep. I just keep thinking we only have 6 more weeks before summer vacation begins! I know it will fly by and be here before we know it. :)

It's hard to believe that Dawson is now 6 years old. It seems like yesterday that I was just pregnant with him and wandering what motherhood had in store for me. We had such a great time today and the weather was gorgeous! Daddy and I worked so hard on making all the decorations so his Mario birthday theme was just perfect! It actually brought back so many memories of when Mario was first introduced to us as children with the Nintendo games! LOL! I can remember my brother and I staying up all hours of the night trying to beat all the levels. :) One of Dawson's gifts today was Mario All-Stars game and it has all the old original games on one Wii game! Looks like Mama will be up late tonight being a kid again.:)

Let's Play Ball!

Well our day started off at the ball field with a parade at 9:30 and we are just now getting the kids home, bathed, and in bed. Whew! BUT it was such a fun and exciting day. I wish we could say we won our first game, but we lost. We lost by only 5 runs to the best team out there (I think). It was a high scoring game too and our boys played so well. Dawson got one hit and stopped a ball in the outfield. :) When he hit the ball, I felt like my heart was going to beat right out of my chest. We have one of the best coaches out there, and I am very excited to see where our season takes us!

We had such a great time at her cupcake party yesterday. It was so much fun having friends and family over to celebrate Madalynn's birthday. We had a cupcake theme and it so fun watching Mady open all her presents. She loves all of her new toysies. Mady is constantly amazing me everyday with how much she is changing, growing, and learning.

January 12, 2011 - Happy 2nd birthday to my beautiful Madalynn! The little girl who immediately loved purses, sunglasses, tea parties, doll babies, and sparkling shoes...and who knew without being taught how to put them on the right feet! The girl whose first word was Daw Daw, the child who eats non-stop by saying, "wanna eat more mama." Who is little ..."Miss Independent" until she's not, and wants to cuddle. The child that will let you know what she wants when she wants it. Who knows when she's ready for bed will wave nite nite, and say "Uve You, and see ya in the morn." The little girl who adores her brother yet aggravates the snot out of him. Another miracle that we thought we would never have...Thank you Lord for our Madybelle and these 2 amazing years with her. What a true blessing she is to our lives.

More Snow in SC! Can you believe it!

It's hard to believe that in less than 1 month we have had snow again in SC. The first time we had snow the day after Christmas and we got 4-5 inches. Today we got maybe 2 inches and it wasn't the nice powdery kind but it was still pretty. We had today off from school and Daddy was finally able to come home, and enjoy it with us too. Dawson built a snowman while Mady walked around eating gold fish!! LOL! That child is always eating.

We have already been notified that we will also have tomorrow off from school. Guess we better live up these days because we will be missing them come Feb and March. It has been so nice enjoying this time off with the kids. We played out in the snow, rode around on the golfcart, and then finally came inside by the fire. We ate grilled cheese sandwiches, and watched movies all afternoon. We already had a shorter week having 1/2 day Thursday, and Friday and Monday off...but this week just keeps getting shorter and better. :)

It's hard to believe another Christmas has come and gone. As we put up the decorations I can't help but get a little sad. Dawson was very upset when Mr. Jingles (our elf on the shelf) had to head back to the North Pole. I tried to console him and help him understand that he will be back next year. As I did that it was like I was trying to help myself even understand. I know the holidays always fly by and it bums me out too. Christmas is my favorite time of the year. Can I say that again..it's my FAVORITE time of the year!!! :(

At least we got snow this year, which is a first ever at Christmas here (which is what I heard.) Pretty soon, we will be back to reality with our everyday lives and jobs. I am truly blessed and each day is a new blessing from our Savior! I am so thankful for all my family because they are truly my best gifts!
